a well-respected musicologist, author, music book producer, musician,
publisher, and audio music programmer, with years of experience in the music
industry.
Over 2,000 music books or books
about music bear Schiff's name as editor, co-writer, agent, publisher, or
author. Several of her music books have received the prestigious Paul Revere
Award for overall concept and design excellence. She's produced books and audio
channels in every style of music, although she names AAA rock, classical, jazz,
new age, children's, cabaret,
In Inflight Audio programming on United Airlines, her division of DMI Worldwide won the Avion Awards from the World Airline Entertainment Association 2001-First Place Overall Channels . Second Place Individual Channel-and has placed in the top three in both categories for five of the past years.
For the
airlines, she's responsible for programming over 1,000 songs every two months
in four languages and 26 genres (including 8 years programming Air Force 1
& 2). For Private Label Radio she programs for clients as diverse as the
Schiff is a Past President of the California Copyright Conference, past member of the Boards of Directors of Association of Independent Music Publishers and L.A. Women in Music, and a music licensing specialist. She is a member of NARAS (GRAMMYs) and NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants), and has taught Music Business courses at the university level. She continues to play fiddle and viola with an emphasis on bluegrass, jazz and classical styles.
